  • Middelburg 3 Memorial
    Erected in memory of three Middelburg rebels who died during their rebellion against the re-location to a new township and housing scheme.
  • Karel Theron Primary School
    The school, built in 1908, once was the biggest school in the Cape Province. It was named after Mr Kalie Theron who saw his school grow from a two-teacher primary school to a high school. For 35 years he was the principal.
  • Burger Monument
    This graceful obelisk was erected in 1929 to honour the memory of 19 Burghers who fell during the Anglo Boer War. Can be seen in the Mayor’s Garden. Mayor’s Garden, Meintjies Street.
  • VCA Hall
    It was built as a home for Lord French, by Lord Kitchener’s Master builder during the 1899 – 1902 Anglo Boer War. When the war was drawing towards its end, many local residents felt that the ex-volunteers should be welcomed back home and some form of memorial to be instituted for those who did not return.   • Wall of Remembrance
    The wall honors the memory of all who fell during the Two World wars and the Bush war in Namibia. The names are engraved on bronze plaques and fixed to the wall.

    Karoo Ridge Cottage is set on Karoo Ridge Conservancy (55km from Middelburg), a 3 000ha working farm, where we run indigenous Nguni and Watusi cattle alongside game.
  • No. 6 on Church Self Catering
    No. 6 on Church is a cottage that was built in the mid-1800s, and in 2015 it was completely renovated to its current form as a self-catering unit. Where possible, the original woodwork was retained, giving rise to clean-cut modern accommodation with an old Karoo flavour.
